DIY Wedding Favors

Wedding favors can add some personality into your wedding reception and decor, but they can also be expensive. If you're up for a little DIY, you can still have wedding favors your guests love and keep the cost within your wedding budget; all while having some fun putting your DIY wedding favors together!

Check out these ideas for DIY wedding favors.

Bride and Groom's Favorite Snacks
We love this idea of packaging both the bride and groom's favorite snacks to give as a wedding favor. It gives your wedding guests a sweet (or savory) treat while showing off the newlyweds' fav snacks. We love these stickers we found on Etsy to package the favors. Plus, these DIY wedding favors can be made several days in advance so you're not worried about favors the morning of your wedding.

Take Home Hot Cocoa
Make-your-own hot cocoa is a super cozy DIY wedding favor, especially for a winter wedding. You'll need hot cocoa mix, mini marshmallows, plus extras like chocolate chips or mint pieces. You can layer everything into a cone-shaped plastic bag or use a small jar (with or without a handle) to display the cute layers. Either way, you'll want to label the favors with a tag or sticker to go along with your wedding theme.

Mini Potted Plants
Succulents make lovely wedding favors. Your guests will love to display them at home, plus they'll add to your wedding reception decor while they're displayed for people to take. Most garden stores sell succulents and you can order larger quantities in advance to get a better price on them. Place the succulents in small pots, tins or terrariums. Place a fun sticker on the outside or a flag in the dirt to brand the favor with your wedding colors and decor.

If the succulent idea is out of your budget, think a bit smaller with seeds. Pick up some plant seeds from your local garden store. Divvy them up into small paper bags and either stamp or write on the outside of the bag. If your penmanship isn't up to your wedding standards, there are plenty of crafters on Etsy who will make sure the seed bags are as cute as the wedding couple.

If you're feeling really crafty, you may want to try your hand at DIY heart soap wedding favors. You can use a white soap base to create a clean base color and then add various herbs or flowers to create the scent you want. Plus, they'll look lovely displayed on a table for your guests to take and enjoy.
